Happy Halloween!

We had a wonderfully spooky Halloween this year! Brandon and John had fun carving "twist" the pumpkin. This is the first year that Brandon scooped out the seeds all by himself. Usually it is way to gross for him! ;)

I love letting Brandon design the pumpkins face...it's always so cute. Never scary. ;)

Brandon doing some creepy crafts!

The week before Halloween was Red Ribbon Week at school, so they got to do something fun each day. Monday everyone wore red, Tuesday they wore matching outfits...
Wednesday was crazy outfit and hair day...
We sprayed Brandon's hair black and had him wear his jacket backwards!
Friday the kids got to wear their costumes! Brandon chose to be Ash Ketchum, the Pokemon trainer.
They had a fun little parade around the playground then a party in the classroom.

Being one of the four room moms for the class, I was able to put on the Halloween party. We kept it simple with a couple treats and a craft. :)

We attended our tri-ward Trunk-or-Treat. There were over 500 people there! Yikes!

Brandon enjoyed target practice, darts, the beanbag toss and face painting.

Brandon LOVED having his face painted!

Here is the best picture of us in our costumes. Not great, but we tried! I sprayed John's hair black for the Trunk-or-Treat, but because it took him two LONG showers to get it out, he did not want me to spray it again on Halloween night. :) He looked great regardless!

We had fun going trick-or-treating with some friends from school. Brandon and Blake looked awesome!
Blake's little sister Brynn really wanted to hold Brandon's stuffed animal Pikachu. He reluctantly let her. ;)
The crew ready to go! It was a great (short) night! We were done getting candy by 7:10pm and had Brandon in bed by 8:15pm. What a great Halloween!

Our Rainy Adventure!

I really wanted to find a great place to pick a pumpkin this year, and living in a new town I had no clue where we should go. After asking around I heard that Del'Osso Family Farms was a great place to go and get inexpensive pumpkins and do lots of fun fall things. We set aside our Saturday to venture out (it's about an hour away from our home) and play all day on the farm. We were a bit concerned because the weather had been a little dreary with rain here and there, but taking a chance we made the drive and arrived with no rain in the sky.
There was SO MUCH to do! Above is a picture of the obstacle course! Super high and too scary for me to try! We skipped it.
Pumpkin launching, face painting, riding a zip-line and hayrides were just a few of the things to do on the farm.
After being there for only 30 minutes or so, it started to sprinkle. We were bummed but we tried to have fun and not let the rain stop us. :)
Brandon really wanted to do the corn maze...in the RAIN! Kids apparently do not mind getting soaked! We had no umbrellas but we did the maze anyway. The rain made the mud so slippery that we had to walk really slowly not to fall! It was hilarious. It took us forever to make it though the smallest maze there, and we were slipping and sliding all over the place, trying to grab onto corn stalks for support. They are NOT very supportive. ;)

After looking for a long time, Brandon finally found a great big pumpkin. We named him "Twist" because of his twisted stem. The day was a very wet adventure that we will not soon forget!

Lake Powell!

We had the most unbelievable time in Lake Powell with my family! Papa John rented the whole family a houseboat for an amazing 5 days! It was the absolute BEST to be with my family again. I miss them so much even though it's only been about two months since I've moved away. Hanging out with my sisters and having the cousins together again was wonderful.

My hottie hubby. ;)
Brandon and my little lady Lily!

Parker sliding off the houseboat. So much fun!

We call them the twins!

Brandon has the BEST cousins!

This is how Brandon spent much of his time on the lake. He is my little fish!

We hiked up this awesome sand hill. It was a pretty tough hike and i was so proud of all the kids for making it to the top!
Best buds for life! London and Brandon.
Parker and Aunt Julie kept us very entertained!
Becca did too!
Feeding the GIANT fish! They were scary!

Hanging out on top of the boat was super fun at night. The stars were unreal.
I love these two. They are my boys. ;)
Rainbow Bridge
The whole gang.
Parker, Brandon and a beautiful sunset.

It was truly an amazing vacation! Thank you Papa John! We love you so much!
